The problem
Site and office teams needed to know which drawing was current, which revision had been issued, who had reviewed it, and whether an open comment prevented work from proceeding.
The constraints
Connectivity could vary by site, document files were large, and access differed across contractor, consultant, and client roles. Superseded information had to remain traceable without appearing as the current construction record.
What was built
The solution model combined a drawing register, immutable revision identifiers, controlled issue and review states, role-based access, object storage, and mobile-friendly field checks. Each review response remained attached to the relevant revision rather than the filename alone.
The outcome
The proposed operating result is one current-document view for field teams and a complete revision and decision history for handover. Quantified reduction in rework would require verified project data and is intentionally not claimed here.
